Information About Membership

What is our goal ?

The ESPU was founded in 1989 as an independent, non-profit organization to support and promote all clinical and scientific aspects of pediatric urology. In addition to the Annual Meeting the society organizes educational and postgraduate courses on a regular basis, and provides its members a platform for exchange and collaboration in both clinical and research fields.

  • For Ordinary members: Continuous Medical Education (CME)
  • For Ordinary members: attendance of the General Assembly with voting rights
  • For Ordinary members: eligible for a position in one of the ESPU committees or in the board

Membership options

Ordinary member: for those who are currently performing 80-100% of time in pediatric urology in their clinical practice in Europe, and completed their training in pediatric urology.

Associate member: for those who are interested in pediatric urology and are currently performing less than 80% of time in pediatric urology in their clinical practice in Europe.

Corresponding member: for those who are active in pediatric urology outside of Europe.

Junior member: for fellows in pediatric urology who are less than 35 years of age and who will continue their practice in pediatric urology after completion of their training program.

Senior member: for members after retirement (upon request) or when they reach the age of 65.

Membership requirements

Application for Ordinary membership:

  • Complete the on-line application form
  • Join a Curriculum Vitae (CV).
  • Join a written support letters from 2 active Ordinary members, stating that you are qualified to perform pediatric urology in your country, and that you are currently performing 80-100% of time in pediatric urology in your clinical practice and stating the support of your Ordinary Membership.
  • Join a further supporting documents, like a personal logbook of past 2 years surgical procedures may be requested by the board.

Application for Associate and Corresponding membership:

  • Complete the on-line application form
  • Join a written support letters from 2 active Ordinary members. Corresponding members may provide supporting letters from corresponding members, if they don’t know any European doctor.
  • Join a further supporting documentation may be requested by the board.

Application for Junior membership (for those < 35 years of age only):

  • Complete the on-line application form or PDF form.
  • Join a Curriculum Vitae (CV).
  • Join a written support letter from 1 active Ordinary member.
  • Join a copy of passport or identity card as proof of age.

We kindly remind you that your membership is only valid after payment of your yearly membership fee. In case of late payment, you might lose your membership status.  Please inform us when your professional practice has been changed.
