Dr. Gordon McLorie impacted our lives through his commitment and passion for the advancement of urologic medicine. With a career that spanned over four decades, Dr. McLorie contributed to the professional training and development of many pediatric urologists practicing today. He helped train over 50 fellows, many of whom hold academic leadership positions around the globe. We were fortunate to have had him as a vital member of the urology team at the Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) and the University of California, Irvine .
While we are deeply saddened by his passing, we take comfort in knowing that his legacy will live on through those whom he taught and touched. In order to honor Dr. McLorie’s memory and his commitment to education, we have initiated the Dr Gordon McLorie Memorial Fund at CHOC Children’s Hospital of Orange County. Funds from this endowment will be used for research in education and to support an annual Gordon Mclorie Lecture and visiting professorship.
